Viðar frá Skör

The offspring from Viðar frá Skör are very tall horses. Their head has good ear position but is sometimes a bit on the coarse side. They have high withers, sloping shoulders and the neck is with very good topline but often lacking higher setting and finer throat. The back and croup is very well muscled and with very strong and well balanced backline. They are well proportioned with an even trunk and long legs. The legs have strong joints and much feathers, the correctness of the legs is often narrow in hind and paddling in front. The hooves are strong and the mane and tail is usually quite good with a long forelock. Most of Viðars offspring that have been evaluated are shown with pace. The tölt is clear-beat with very long strides, high movements and good speed range but sometimes lacking lightness. The trot is excellent; secure and with very long strides, high movements, good suspension and speed range. The pace is in many of them abit unbalanced, but those who have found the balance have developed very fast pace with good stridelength and movements. The gallop is fast and with good stridelength and the canter is sometimes lacking in carriage and lightness. The walk is supple and most often with good stridelength. The offspring seem to have cooperative character and good willingness. They are charismatic under rider, with strong topline and high movements but could be more raised. Viðar breeds tall and robust fivegaited horses with a powerful expression under rider and he receives first price for offspring.
